We purchased land in Damascus and hired Birdsmouth Design-Build to create a custom passive house in a farmhouse style. Working with our Birdsmouth architect, Tammy, was a great pleasure. She and the team met with us over Zoom during the lockdown. She helped us to design a home that was perfect for our rural retirement. Our Birdsmouth site manager, Botts, was on-site every day with a small team of hard-working perfectionists! They made sure that everything was done right, the job site was organized and clean, and their subs worked at their same high standards. The entire team at Birdsmouth is top-notch. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their craft of building high-quality, highly-efficient houses. We enjoyed the process and we love our new house!

Honestly, I brought Birdsmouth a mess of a project - an ADU that had started as an idea several years ago that was then a design in process ever since. Way too many cooks in the kitchen! It was unreasonable and not something I could afford to build. Working as a true partner, they reformatted and redesigned and gave me an elegant 800 square-foot building that anyone would be proud to live in, and on a budget that made sense for me. I am delighted with the end result - I have to say the process was part of why I would work with them again: collaborative, thoughtful, multiple solutions to every issue, and extremely creative in the (to me) boring parts of infrastructure and energy efficiency. (And, by the way? the parts that bore you are the ones that can eat you alive financially.) They stayed on schedule, within budget, and the communication with the project manager and rest of the team was excellent. I look forward to STARTING a project with them next time.

We hired Birdsmouth when we purchased a new house with unique construction (SIPS panels) and evidence of poor installation of siding and windows. The Birdsmouth team proved to be exceptional craftsmen, environmental experts, and solid, reliable humans. Over a six-month period, the crew showed up on time every day, worked hard, communicated well, and ensured we were satisfied with their work. Our neighbors still talk about how friendly they were, and while we don't miss the construction, we miss the crew. Our house looks incredible, and I can sleep at night knowing the water is outside.

Birdsmouth is a professional, responsible, friendly, responsive, and thorough company. We worked with the wonderful, owner Josh and a stellar architect/project manager Jonathan to remodel our kitchen and make some other improvements to our home during summer/fall 2016. We could not have asked for a better team. They worked well with our architect, our budget, our timeline, our complicated family constraints (a pregnancy and early birth!), and our expectations. We were impressed with the crews that they brought into the house, who were courteous, responsive, thorough, and *very* tidy. We were also impressed with their communication - they made themselves available for in-person meetings, phone meetings, and lots of email communication. They were up front and honest about costs, implications of choosing different materials and fixtures, and the reality of the construction process. They were patient with us (we know nothing about construction and are fussy about details). The individuals we worked with have a great sense of humor and a real eye and passion for eco-friendly construction. They were ON TIME AND ON BUDGET. And the work that they did has held up amazingly well. It's now been a year and we really love the kitchen they built us and the craftsmanship that went along with it. Can't say enough good about these guys and recommend them highly.

I have hired Birdsmouth for about 4 different jobs now, that have included remodels of a bathroom, family room/dinning room, partial kitchen update, and new doors and windows in many areas of the house. The crew is so nice that when they are working at the house they feel more like having a friend over than a work crew. The work itself is of the highest quality with an expert eye to detail. I completely trust that no matter what happens during a job they will make things right and take care of every detail, even if they have to pay for extra paint, time or finishes. I can't wait to get started on my next Birdsmouth project. They are definitely the only company I would use.

Birdsmouth is of the highest caliber. They are on time, on budget with unique ways to assist the owner in money management for the project. They have well coordinated, knowledgable, and professional subs. They provide constant and up to date communications on the project to the owner with anticipatory information to help understand the progress of the job and what is coming next. Individual members of the Birdsmouth team are of the highest quality in project management, carpentry and interior finishing. Their attention to the architects design with nuanced suggestions for change enhanced my project of a complete and total home remodel from new roof to out to the street plumbing with down to the studs new siding, windows, and insulation to name a few. Their construction techniques employ all levels of appropriate building disciplines and skills when it comes to green techniques, energy awareness, and all the attending materials and methods. I had hoped to do more of the original job myself. OMG and I am so glad I hired Birdsmouth.

Some contractors just know construction, however, Josh has a great design sense as well, and his quality craftsmanship is what sold us. We looked at another basement he had just finished for a client before starting on ours and were excited to have the level of quality in our own home that we saw in the other home. It didn't feel like you were in a basement, just in another part of the home. The Birdsmouth crew and the contractors hired are very attentive, cool, fun to work with people. They are punctual, and all very skilled in their work. We've hired other contractors for various projects in our house and so far Josh and his crew are the best we've ever worked with. Their quality and attention to detail really stand out!

I recently hired Birdsmouth to remodel my garage with overhead studio space, and turn it into an ADU for short term rental at first, and possibly to live in myself eventually. I was very happy with the final result, and they were a pleasure to work with. Josh and Jason were pleasant, professional, on time and very efficient... I would definitely recommend them!

Birdsmouth created a beautiful custom deck for our family that included lighting, hidden fasteners, custom metalwork.....a simplicity of form that required an amazing amount of finesse and engineering before construction could begin. Josh's attention to detail is incredible, the fit and finish work he/his crew does is untouchable. Josh is an absolute pleasure to have about as he's so hardworking yet always open to discussion/collaboration. Josh is honest, funny, a child and dog magnet and he takes extreme pride in his work. He was so considerate about how he left the site daily, taking our family's enjoyment into consideration....all was so tidy. Timelines were met consistently and all felt so smooth and easy on our side. He's a total professional. There should be an option for more stars! We have had quite a bit of work done on our home; as it's quite old, we won't hire anyone but Josh on future projects.
