Project Details Just outside of Portland, these five acres are a dreamy amount of space to build a Passive House. The ability to orient a home so that it aligns with the contours of the land and the essential directions, and one that is up to Passive House standards is a captivating challenge for a designer, and it's exciting to fully do this project in-house.
This home has a unique concrete-free slab on grade foundation to reduce upfront carbon emmissions (See Josh's article in Fine Homebuilding Magazine about it here ), includes a Glo European window package, a Zehnder Q350 for ventilation with an Amaircare Airwash for fresh air-- even during more and more common smoke events, a Mitsubishi heat pump for heating and cooling, and it is a certified Passive House through Phius.
